Project
We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to support the commissioning of heat transfer systems on a major industrial project in Germany. The successful candidate will oversee commissioning activities, coordinate with project stakeholders, and ensure systems are commissioned safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.
Location
- Primary working location: Recklinghausen, Germany
- Regular site visits to Duisburg (conveniently located close to the airport)
- Some remote working may be available, subject to project requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate commissioning activities for heat transfer systems.
- Develop, implement, and monitor commissioning plans and schedules.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, operations, and client teams throughout the commissioning phase.
- Ensure commissioning activities comply with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Review commissioning documentation, procedures, and test records.
- Identify, manage, and resolve technical issues during commissioning.
- Monitor progress and provide regular status updates to project stakeholders.
- Support system testing, performance verification, and final handover activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager on industrial or energy-related projects.
- Experience commissioning heat transfer systems or similar process equipment.
- Strong understanding of commissioning procedures, safety requirements, and project delivery.
- Excellent coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
- Willingness to travel between project sites as required.

Contract Information
This is a freelance contract running from 28 September 2026 to 31 December 2026, with work primarily based in Recklinghausen and regular site visits to Duisburg. Flexibility for some remote working may be available depending on project needs.
