About the Client:
A major energy developer preparing to build a greenfield hydrogen electrolyser facility in Germany. The project is entering its pre-FEED phase and requires civil engineering support to develop early-stage infrastructure plans and navigate local permitting processes.
Role Overview:
The Civil Engineer will support the early planning and permitting of a greenfield electrolyser site. This includes infrastructure layout, coordination with local authorities, and contributions to HOAI service phases 2–3. The role is remote with occasional site visits and is ideal for someone with plant experience and strong knowledge of German permitting procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop preliminary infrastructure plans (roads, drainage, utilities)
· Support HOAI service phases 2–3 (Vorplanung and Entwurfsplanung)
· Liaise with local authorities to support permitting strategy
· Contribute to feasibility and constructability assessments
· Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
· Provide input on regulatory compliance and environmental considerations
Candidate Requirements:
· EU Passport or German permanent residency
· Fluent in German and English
· Minimum 5 years’ civil engineering experience
· Prior experience in plant or industrial infrastructure projects
· Strong understanding of German permitting processes and HOAI
· Available to work part-time (approx. 20 hours/week) for 7 months
