Job Summary:
The Chief Accountant oversees all financial operations within the police department, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations, financial policies, and internal controls. This role is responsible for managing budgeting, financial reporting, auditing, and expenditure tracking to support transparency and accountability in law enforcement financial activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports.
Oversee budgeting processes and monitor departmental expenditures.
Ensure compliance with public sector accounting standards and regulations.
Coordinate audits and liaise with internal and external auditors.
Supervise accounting staff and ensure accurate record-keeping.
Provide financial advice to senior leadership for strategic decision-making.
