BUSINESS CONTROLLER
Job Description
As a Business Controller, you play a central role in the financial and operational management of projects within the construction sector.
Your mission is to analyze, understand, and improve the actual profitability of projects, in close collaboration with Project Managers and operational teams.
In addition to numerical analysis, you act as a true business partner, able to identify deviations, understand their causes (technical, organizational, or contractual), and actively guide the teams so that all delivered performance is correctly valued and invoiced.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Analyze business figures linked to projects, with a good understanding of field realities and technical aspects of the construction sector.
Prepare and monitor monthly reporting, budgets, and forecasts.
Analyze the financial performance per project and identify trends, declines, or opportunities for improvement.
Establish, monitor, and further develop project and financial KPIs.
Ensure complete and correct invoicing of projects.
Identify “loss zones” and understand their origin.
Support project teams in the financial follow-up of their construction sites (costs, margins, deviations).
Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of financial and operational processes.
Key Competencies
Knowledge of budget control within the construction sector.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Good command of financial analysis, controlling, and reporting.
Experience with MS Dynamics and very good knowledge of MS Excel.
Bilingual Dutch/French with good knowledge of English.
Accurate, proactive, communicative, and results-oriented.
Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
