About the Client:

 My client is looking for a freelance Azure Data Engineer to support clients across industries on strategic data and cloud projects. You’ll design and build scalable Azure data platforms while also contributing to broader analytics and AI initiatives.

Role Overview:

As a freelance Azure Data Engineer, you’ll help clients design and build modern data platforms on Azure. You’ll work on end-to-end data engineering projects—ranging from cloud architecture and pipeline development to analytics, customer insights, and GenAI integrations. You may operate independently or within client teams, delivering high-impact solutions across industries. This role is ideal for a consultant who enjoys solving complex data challenges and driving value through scalable cloud and data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable Azure data platforms, pipelines, and cloud architectures

• Develop and optimise Azure Data Lake environments and data ingestion frameworks

• Create efficient ETL/ELT workflows using Python, ADF, Databricks, and Synapse

• Ensure data quality, governance, security, and performance across environments

• Lead or support end-to-end client projects: scoping, solution design, implementation, and delivery

• Collaborate with client stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions

Candidate Requirements:

• 3–5+ years as a Data Engineer

• Strong Azure experience (ADF, ADLS, Databricks, Synapse)

• Solid Python skills

• Experience with data modelling, warehousing, and cloud best practices

• Consulting experience or client-facing communication is a plus

• English required; French or Dutch a plus
