For this role, you will work with one of our clients in the utilities sector, contributing to business-critical platforms that support energy and infrastructure services used by millions of people.

The role
As a DevOps Engineer, you will strengthen a cloud-native engineering team within the utilities domain. You’ll help design, automate, and operate scalable platforms on AWS, with a strong focus on Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD automation.
You will have significant autonomy to improve automation and platform reliability, while collaborating closely with backend engineers working in Java, with a gradual transition towards Kotlin.

What you’ll do:

  • Design, build, and operate AWS-based cloud infrastructure
  • Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters in production
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Improve and automate CI/CD pipelines
  • Collaborate with software engineers using Java and Kotlin
  • Ensure platform reliability, security, and scalability
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance
  • Actively identify opportunities for automation and improvement

What you bring:

  • Medior or senior-level experience as a DevOps Engineer
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS
  • Proven experience with Kubernetes in production
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code
  • Working knowledge of Java/Kotlin
  • An autonomous mindset and strong focus on automation
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • Availability to work on-site in Arnhem 2 days per week
