I’m currently working with a well-established and highly regarded planning consultancy just north of Leeds that is looking to appoint an Associate Planning Director to support continued growth within their planning team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planner who enjoys working on complex projects within sensitive rural environments and is looking to take the next step in a collaborative, multidisciplinary practice.
The Opportunity
You’ll join a respected consultancy delivering planning services across the UK. The team works on a wide range of projects – from standalone planning applications to integrated schemes alongside architecture, landscape and consultancy specialists.
Projects span sectors including residential, commercial, leisure and tourism, often within sensitive and complex rural environments.
The role offers significant responsibility, leadership opportunities and strong client exposure, with the chance to lead projects and contribute to the continued growth of the planning service line.
Key Responsibilities
Leading and delivering complex planning projects independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams
Building and maintaining strong client relationships, providing strategic planning advice
Managing project delivery to ensure high-quality outputs and consistent standards
Identifying business development opportunities and supporting the growth of the planning team
Mentoring and supporting junior planners within the team
Collaborating with architecture, landscape and consultancy teams on integrated schemes
About You
My client is looking for someone who:
Is RTPI accredited
Has at least seven years’ post-qualification planning experience
Has a strong understanding of UK planning policy and practice
Demonstrates a proven track record delivering successful planning projects
Has experience working on rural or environmentally sensitive sites
Is confident engaging with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams
Has strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
