Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced freelance Ada Developer to join a long-term project based in Limburg, Netherlands. The selected expert will play a key role in assessing and implementing technical change requests within a structured development environment. This is a hybrid role, offering 2 days of remote work per week, with a contract length of 2 years+.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, analyze, and implement technical change requests in collaboration with project stakeholders.
- Design, develop, and implement software changes using Ada and associated technologies.
- Ensure all updates meet functional, operational, and performance standards.
- Collaborate closely with end-users and project teams to validate and implement requirements effectively.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of system architecture and codebase quality.
- Maintain documentation and support technical reviews as required.
Requirements (Qualifications / Skills & Experience)
- Proven experience as a Senior Ada Developer, ideally within real-time or mission-critical system environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience assessing and implementing technical change requests in structured or regulated development settings.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate with stakeholders.
- Familiarity with software validation, testing, and documentation processes.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
Essential
- Strong proficiency in Ada programming language.
- Experience in high-integrity or safety-critical software development.
- Solid understanding of structured development methodologies and software lifecycle management.
Desirable
- Knowledge of embedded systems, real-time operating systems (RTOS), or aerospace/transport applications.
- Experience with configuration management and version control tools.
