Our client, a well-established company based in Liège, is looking for a Medior Accountant to join their finance team on a long-term freelance contract. This opportunity arises due to the extended leave of a key team member, creating an immediate need for an experienced professional who can quickly take ownership of the role and ensure business continuity.
This is a broad A-to-Z accounting position with responsibility across three business units, offering full exposure to the accounting lifecycle, from daily accounting operations through to month-end closing and financial reporting.
The successful consultant will be expected to become autonomous rapidly, work proactively with stakeholders, and provide reliable accounting support from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounting cycle for three business units
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounting transactions
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and treasury activities
- Perform account reconciliations and support month-end and year-end closings
- Prepare financial reports and provide visibility on accounting performance
- Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with internal procedures
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, suppliers, customers and external partners
- Support audits and other finance-related projects as required
Profile
- 3+ years of experience in a broad accounting position
- Strong understanding of end-to-end accounting processes
- Able to work independently and take ownership quickly
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple entities
- Experience with financial reporting and month-end close activities
- Hands-on and pragmatic approach with strong attention to detail
- Fluent French is mandatory
- Experience with Sage BOB 50 is highly desirable
- Available to start in the short term
